Fischer's Wyoming Career Ends At NCAA Championships

Wyoming Cowboy senior swimmer Brandon Fischer's outstanding career came to a close on Saturday, at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in Seattle, Wash. Fischer swam in the 200 breaststroke preliminaries at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center and placed 31st with a time of 2:00.87.
"Overall we are not too pleased with how this weekend turned out," Wyoming head coach Tom Johnson said. "It is great he was able to get here he worked really hard all season. I wish he would have been able to go faster all three days. We can learn from this experience and move on to preparing for the Olympic Trials this summer."
Fischer finished his racing at the championships with the 200 breaststroke recording his 31st place finish. He recorded his best finish on Friday, in the 100 breaststroke preliminaries touching the wall with the 26th-fastest time of 54.66. He began the event on Thursday, with the 200 individual medley finishing 52nd with a time of 1:51.57.
The conclusion of Fischer's racing at the NCAA Men's Championships concludes the Wyoming swimming and diving season.
