Jan. 23, 2013
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Carmen Robb became the second swimmer from UNLV this season to be named Mountain West Women's Swimmer Of The Week, the league office announced on Wednesday. It's the second weekly honor of her career, and the third overall for UNLV this season, as teammate Jessica Heim has earned the award twice.
A senior and native of East Wenatchee, Wash., Robb won two individual events and swam on a winning relay team while leading the Rebels to a third straight victory, 155-145 over UC Santa Barbara on Jan. 19. She swept both backstroke events, posting first-place times of 54.47 in the 100 and 1:59.30 in the 200 distance. Robb currently not only holds the fastest time in the 100 back, she also ranks 10th in the nation.
She added a third-place swim in the 100 fly in 56.11, and began the meet by swimming the lead off leg of the 200 medley relay, that placed first with a time of 1:42.43.
The UNLV women's team, 4-4 on the season, will close out their dual meet season with a Senior Day contest against Wyoming on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 12 pm in Buchanan Natatorium.
