Aztec Swimming Sends Seven to NCAA Championships

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - A total of seven Aztecs will be in Indianapolis this weekend for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. SDSU will be represented in six individual events and three relays over the three days of competition.
Aztecs who will swim in individual events include seniors Katelyn Weddle (100 and 200 breaststroke) and Leona Jennings (100 and 200 beackstroke) along with junior Mikaela Macklin (100 and 200 individual medley, 200 breaststroke).
Joining that trio will be the foursome of Chelsea Bailey, Gemma Johnson, Whitney Weisz and Meghan Zimmer who will compete in the relay races. The Aztecs will field teams in the 200 medley relay (Bailey, Weddle, Johnson, Wesiz) and 400 medley relay (Jennings, Weddle,Johnson, Zimmer). In addition, SDSU will also swim in the 400 free relay with a team to be determined.
The NCAA Championships are underway today (Thurday, March 21) and will run through Saturday (March 23) at the IU Natatorium and the IUPUI Sports Complex in Indianapolis. Prelims get underway at 11:00 a.m. (ET) each day with the finals sessions scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. (ET) each evening.
