Track & Field Recap: Rams wrap up first day of action at Potts Invitational

BOULDER, Colo. – The Colorado State track & field team began action at the Potts Indoor Invitational in Boulder on Friday. With most of the meet’s events slated for Saturday, only a handful of Rams participated in Friday’s action.
Ram pole vaulters Morgan Griffin and Valentina Pauna took first and second in the women’s pole vault, respectively. Griffin jumped 11 feet, 9.75 inches for the victory, tying a personal record. Pauna jumped 11 feet, 5.75 inches for a second-place finish. Her jump was a personal record.
In the men’s pole vault, Josh McMillin took fifth place with a jump of 14 feet, 3.25 inches.
Sophomore Gunnar Haynes finished third in the men’s high jump with a jump of 6 feet, 3.25 inches. His teammates Colton Grandbouche, Josh McMillin and Josh Cogdill all tied for fourth place with jumps of 6 feet, 1.25 inches.
The Potts Indoor Invitational continues on Saturday, beginning with throws events at 10 a.m. MT.
