Nevada Track and Field Weekend Results

The University of Nevada track and Field team had several strong finishes at the UW Invitational hosted by the University of Washington and the Jacksons Invitational hosted by Boise State over the weekend.
Sophomore Anita Momudu took first place in section one of the 200 meter dash at the UW Invitational, finishing with a time of 25.32. The time places Momudu tied for tenth place on Nevada’s all-time list with Analisa Serrano (2007). Junior Tanisha Hawkins won section seven of the same event, clocking in at 25.30 to sit in ninth on the program’s all-time list. Sophomore Kashae Knox placed third in section 11 of the event with a time of 25.48.
Christy Works placed first in section one of the 800 meter run, as the senior ran a time of 2:18.20. Senior Angelica Earls had a third place finish in section two of the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.47, just .02 off of her program record finish. Nevada’s 4X400 meter relay team comprised of Hawkins, Earls, junior Christina Smith, and senior Samantha Calhoun took second in section two of the event with a time of 3:50.00.
Nevada’s trio of freshmen in the pentathlon event had a solid showing. Katelin Westerterp won section one of the pentathlon with 759 points. Shannon Forman finished third in the same section with 700 points. Nicole Wadden took second in section two with 807 points.
Senior Caitlin Owen finished third in the pole vault at the Jacksons Invitational with a mark of 3.60m.
