SEATTLE, Wash.- The Bulldogs flexed their muscles in the weight throw competition once again at the University of Washington Indoor Open with the day highlighted by Meagan McKee's 18.95-meter (62-02.25 feet) toss. McKee surpassed her season-high 18.89-meter (61-11.75 ft.) throw and logged the 45th-best throw in the nation on Sunday.
Fresno State tallied four 'Dogs in the top-10 in the weights, J'Quyra Moncur-Blue (17.54m, 57-06.50 ft.) trailed McKee and led Caitlin Byrd (16.89m, 55-05.00 ft.), Anamanu Folau (16.57m, 54-04.50 ft.) and Tawnya Turton (16.30m, 53-05.75 ft.).
McKee won the shot put with a 14.75-meter (48-04.75 ft.) heave, although she did top her best throw of the season (14.88m, 48-10.00 ft.) registered at the Bronco Classic.
The freshman sister duo, Dezirae Johnson and Kyra Johnson, had their NCAA debut in the 400-meter. Kyra recorded the 10th-best time in the Mountain West with a clocked time of 56.78 seconds. Dezirae crossed the line at 57.67 seconds.
Senior Marrijtje Molenhuis set a personal record in the 3000-meter with a 10:02.09 run, breaking her 10:08.54 mark set at the UW Husky Classic last season. Her new PR is the No. 8 ranked time in the MW.
The 'Dogs next participate in the Run For the Dream, held at the Save Mart Center on Sunday Feb. 17.
