Air Force Concludes First Day of Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - Backed by a pair of fourth-place finishes from the field events and one event finalist on the track, several members of the Air Force track and field team opened competition today (March 29) at the 85th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.

Sophomore Mikey Lauritzen finished fourth in the javelin throw with a toss of 206'0", while freshman Joey Uhle earned the same placement in the pole vault behind a career-best clearance of 16'6¾".

Senior Bryce Bergman finished eighth among 45 runners during the preliminary heat of the 400-meter hurdles. In his first race of the season in that event, Bergman clocked a time of 51.93 to place third in his heat (and eighth overall), while advancing to Saturday's finals.

In addition, seniors Rachel Thomas and Emily Cotharn finished 38th (1:03.30) and 50th (1:04.53), respectively, in the preliminary of the women's 400-meter hurdles.

The Falcons continue action at the Texas Relays tomorrow morning (March 30) at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
