Jim Walmsley Earns Top American Finish in 10K at Mt. SAC

WALNUT, Calif. - With a career-best time of 29:08.88, Air Force senior Jim Walmsley was the top American finisher (fourth overall) in the elite division of the 10,000-meter run during the first night of competition (April 19) at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
Walmsley improved his personal time in that event by over two minutes to debut in third on the program's top-10 list.
Sophomore Isaiah Bragg also competed in the 10,000-meter run, clocking a career-best time of 30:01.38 to finish ninth in the 25-competitor "A" section. Bragg's time, a personal improvement by over one minute is the ninth-fastest time in Air Force history.
Junior Jen Bremser moved into the third on the program's all-time list for the steeplechase, after shaving over 25 seconds from her previous best time to cross the finish line in 10:55.36. Competing in her first 3000-meter steeplechase of the season, Bremser placed ninth in the 21-runner field.
Classmate Morgan Mosby also impacted the program's record book, as she clocked a 1500-meter time of 4:30.99 to debut in seventh on the program's all-time list. Cutting eight seconds off of her previous best time, Mosby finished second in her section and 63rd in a race that featured 124 runners.
Four members of the men's team also competed in the 1500-meter run. Sophomore Alex Lindsay posted the quartet's fastest time, placing 73rd in the 114-runner event with a time of 3:53.18. Classmate Zach Perkins won his section and finished 74th overall with a debut time of 3:53.24, while fellow sophomore Jake Hawkins clocked in a personal-best 3:53.48 to place 78th overall. Senior Nick White improved his time in the 1500 by two seconds to place 80th in 3:53.93.
Air Force continues competition at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday and Saturday (April 20-21).
