Nevada Fourth After Day Two of MW Outdoor Track and Field Championships

University of Nevada track and field freshman Nicole Wadden picked up three points in the heptathlon, as the team sits in fourth place after day two of the 2013 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Sheila Tarr-Smith Field at Myron Partridge Stadium in Las Vegas.
Wadden, who ended day one in 11th place, used the final day of the heptathlon to improve her position, finishing the event in sixth place with 4,804 points. Allison Reaser of San Diego State became the first-ever three-time winner of the event with 5,612 points. Aztecs' Brittany Bozeman finished second with a total of 5,221 points, followed by Wyoming's Jenna Mann (5,200). Samantha Bowe of New Mexico placed fourth (5,004) and SDSU's Karsen Spar ended up in fifth-place at 4,809.
The freshman was just one point shy of tying Frankie-Jo Olmos (2001) on Nevada's all-time list at number 10. Wadden and fellow freshman Shannon Forman, who finished ninth with 4,626 points, each achieved personal bests in the event.
Day three begins at 8 a.m. with the Women's 10,000 Meters final.
