Track and field recap: CSU's Brown falls short at NCAA championships

DES MOINES, Iowa–Colorado State’s Trevor Brown saw his season come to an end Thursday, as the runner finished 15th in the semifinal round of the NCAA championships. The event was held at Drake University’s Drake Stadium.
Brown, a sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colo., ran the event in 13.83 seconds. The top eight athletes advanced to Saturday’s finals round. In all, Brown was one of 24 competitors in his event.
He qualified for the NCAA championships after placing 11th at the NCAA West regional in Austin, Texas on May 26, with a time of 13.77 seconds. Thursday marked Brown’s first appearance in the NCAA championships after falling in the quarterfinals a year ago.
On Wednesday, CSU’s Nicole Peters moved on to the finals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase after finishing the semifinal round in a personal-best 10 minutes, 12.16 seconds. The senior finished 13th overall. She will compete in the event’s finals at 5:30 p.m. MST Friday. Live results can be found here.
