Live Stats: Holiday Inn Invitational - Jan. 11-12
After opening the 2012-13 season with success in early December, the Wyoming track and field teams resume the indoor season Friday and Saturday, Jan. 11-12, at the Holiday Inn Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
Held at the University of Nebraska's Bob Devaney Sports Center, Wyoming will face a powerful Husker team as well as a number of Division II schools and community colleges.
"The team is looking good and did a nice job of keeping up with the training that we asked them to do over the break," said coach Bryan Berryhill. "We've had some tough workouts since they returned last week and I think they're ready to go."
With a few weeks off since the Dec. 7 Power Meet, the teams hope to show continued progression toward the MW Indoor Championships in late February.
Action begins Friday at 3 p.m. MT with the field events and end at approximately 8 p.m. with the 5,000-meter run. On Saturday, the field events are slated for an 11 a.m. start and the meet will conclude at approximately 3 p.m. with the 4x400-meter relays.
"The purpose of this meet is to get back into gear and pre¬pare ourselves for the league meet and for the outdoor season," Berryhill said. "As a staff, we are pleased that the athletes did go out during the break and train as hard as they could despite the winter conditions."
