Mountain West Announces Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - March 26, 2013

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State redshirt junior Matt Post was named Mountain West Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, while Boise State senior Alyssa Osai and Colorado State sophomore Kiah Hicks were selected MW Women's Outdoor Track & Field Co-Athletes of the Week for meets held March 20-25. It is the first MW weekly honor for all three student-athletes.
Post, a native of Rocklin, Calif., threw outdoors for the first time as a Bronco on March 22 at the Arizona State Invite in Tempe, Ariz. Competing in the Hammer, Post finished third out of 19 competitors with a distance of 196'-2.00'' (59.79m). The throw, which ranks second in the MW and 29th in the nation, is a personal best.
Osai, from San Carlos, Calif., finished fourth in the Hammer at the Arizona State Invite. Her mark of 194'-10.00'' (59.39m) improved on her career-best by one foot. It is the top throw in the MW and 16th-best nationally this season.
Hicks, who hails from Colorado Springs, Colo., won the Discus and Hammer and finished second in the Shot Put at the Tom Benich Invitational in Greeley, Colo. Hicks' mark of 177'-6.00'' leads the MW and ranks third in the nation this season. It is also a new personal-best for the sophomore. In the Hammer she recorded a distance of 194'-7.00'', which ranks as the second-best in the MW and No. 17 in the nation. Hicks threw the Shot Put 46'-2.50'' at the Tom Benich Invitational, good for the sixth-highest mark in the MW.
