#15 T&F Goes for Third Straight Cal/Nevada Title

The 15th-ranked San Diego State track and field team looks for its third consecutive title this weekend at the Cal/Nevada Championships. The two-day meet, hosted by UC San Diego, will take place Friday (March 29) and Saturday (March 30) at Triton Track & Field Stadium in La Jolla, Calif.
Last year, the Aztecs finished with 130 points, five ahead of runner-up Long Beach State (125), despite not having eventual NCAA champion Whitney Ashley compete in the discus throw. SDSU has won seven Cal/Nevada titles since 2001.
San Diego State will send 32 athletes to this year's meet, including Brittany Bozeman (100 hurdles, long jump, shot put, javelin throw), Kristen Brown (100 hurdles, pole vault), Jasmine Burrell (shot put, discus throw, hammer throw), Alex Evans (100 hurdles, long jump, triple jump), Alexa Evans (shot put, discus throw), Brittany Gonter (shot put, discus throw), Nicole Oudenaarden (400, high jump, shot put, javelin throw), Allison Reaser (100, 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles, long jump, 4x400 relay), Deyna Roberson (400, 400 hurdles, 4x400 relay), Karsen Sper (100 hurdles, high jump), Shanieka Thomas (400, long jump, 4x400 relay) and Maderia Toatley (100, 200, 4x400 relay) in multiple events.
The 100-meter hurdles kicks things off on Friday for the Aztecs at 1:15 p.m. PT, while the 10,000 concludes the first day at 5:20 p.m. PT. On Saturday, the hammer throw starts at 11 a.m. PT with the 4x400-meter relay ending the meet at 4:25 p.m. PT.
