FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State’s track and field team will host its first meet of the outdoor season Saturday, as the Rams welcome in Colorado, Northern Colorado and Wyoming to Jack Christiansen Track to compete in the Fum McGraw Quadrangular.
“The athletes are excited and the coaching staff is excited,” said Head Coach Brian Bedard. “We just want to continue in a positive direction, have athletes continue to get better and set some personal bests.”
The four schools will compete in a dual-format scoring meet, pitting each school head-to-head.
The meet has implications past Saturday, as the Rams will be trying to qualify individually for upcoming meets.
“There are some very important meets coming up at the Sun Angel in Arizona and MT. SAC (relays in California),” added Bedard, “where athletes have to hit certain qualifying standards to go, so there is a lot riding on this weekend. We are looking forward to that.”
Competition begins at 9 a.m. MDT with the men’s hammer throw. Rams fans are encouraged to attend, as admission is free for all spectators.
