Track Team to Host Women's Challenge

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State track and field is set to host its second meet of the 2013 outdoor season on Saturday with the Fresno State Women’s Challenge. The women’s only event will begin at 10 a.m. on the campus of Fresno State at Warmerdam Field and move to Veterans Memorial Stadium at Buchanan High School for the remainder of the meet starting at 12:30 p.m.
The 'Dogs will welcome back Cal Poly while Mountain West conference foe UNLV will be the third school to compete in the Tri-Dual Meet. Fresno State hosted Cal Poly for a Dual meet on March 9, the 'Dogs will look to avenge a 99-88 defeat this Saturday.
The schools will begin with the javelin at 10 a.m. at Warmerdam Field followed by the hammer throw before relocating Veterans Memorial Stadium. The long jump kicks off the field events at Buchanan High School and will conclude with the shot put at approximately 2:45 p.m. Running events get started at 1 p.m. with 4x100m relay and the day will wrap up after the distance medley relay at 3:25 p.m.
Admission and parking is free to the public at both sites. Parking is advised in Lot Q or Lot K off of Barstow Avenue for the field events at Fresno State.
