Track and Field Takes on ASU and LSU in Tri-Meet

The San Diego State track and field team travels to Tempe, Ariz., this Saturday for a tri-meet with host Arizona State and LSU.
The Aztecs didn't compete last weekend after winning the Cal/Nevada Championships for the second straight year on March 31-April 1. Allison Reaser won the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump, while Whitney Ashley (shot put), Shanieka Thomas (triple jump) and Holly Waseloff (pole vault) each won their respective events. SDSU finished with 130 points, five ahead of runner-up Long Beach State.
Thomas is currently ranked second in the nation in the triple jump (42 feet, 11 inches), while Reaser is fifth in the heptathlon (5,475 points).
Scheduled to compete this weekend in Tempe for San Diego State are Julianne Alarcio (long jump), Heather Arseneau (pole vault), Ashley (discus throw, hammer throw, shot put), Jasmine Burrell (discus throw, shot put), Maya Carter (400 hurdles, 4x400 relay), Alex Evans (100 hurdles, 4x100 relay, long jump, triple jump), Ellie Fanaika (hammer throw), Brittany Gonter (discus throw, shot put), Kelsy Hintz (pole vault), Kelsie Jarratt (pole vault), Josefine Koskinen (1,500), Carrington Mahr (high jump), Reaser (100 hurdles, 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay, high jump, long jump), Moriah Roberge (pole vault), Thomas (200, 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay, triple jump), Maderia Toatley (400, 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay) and Waseloff (pole vault).
The meet kicks off at 10:30 a.m. MST (also 10:30 a.m. PDT) with the hammer throw and concludes for the Aztecs at 5:10 p.m. MST (5:10 p.m. PDT) with the 4x400-meter relay.
Results from the meet will be posted on GoAztecs.com when they become available. There will not be a live results link for the meet.
