No. 20 T&F Set for Arnie Robinson Invitational

SAN DIEGO -
The 20th-ranked San Diego State track and field team stays in America's Finest City this weekend when it competes in the Arnie Robinson Invitational on Saturday at San Diego Mesa College.
Robinson was a two-time All-American for the Aztecs in the long jump, winning the NCAA title in 1970 with a leap of 25 feet, 10 ½ inches. He went on to win the 1976 Olympic gold medal in Montreal with a jump of 27-00.00. Robinson was inducted into the SDSU Hall of Fame in 1988 in the inaugural class and into the USATF Hall of Fame in 2000. He began his collegiate career with San Diego Mesa College.
Scheduled to compete in the meet for San Diego State include Brittany Bozeman (100 hurdles, shot put), Jasmine Burrell (shot put, discus throw), Eva Davidová (400), Alexa Evans (shot put, discus throw), Brittany Gonter (shot put, discus throw), Sarah Haydock (high jump, shot put), Thoraya Maronsey (100), Lily Mayko (400), Nicole Oudenaarden (200, shot put), Allison Reaser (high jump, shot put), Amy Reaser (1,500), Hannah Sawatzki (5,000), Karsen Sper (long jump, shot put) and Melissa Wendorf (5,000).
The meet kicks off for the Aztecs at 3 p.m. PT with the discus throw and concludes at 8:08 p.m. PT with the 5,000-meter run.
SDSU is coming off another stellar meet last Saturday at the Cal State San Marcos San Mangrum Invitational. Despite not sending a full squad, San Diego State posted four individual wins. Allison Reaser won both the 100-meter hurdles (13.86 seconds) and the 400 hurdles (1:00.05), while Bozeman took the javelin throw (131-09) title and Rebecca Turnbow claimed the pole vault (11-10.75).
