SDSU Track and Field Heads to Oxy Invitational

SAN DIEGO -
The San Diego State track and field team will send seven athletes to the Oxy Invitational Saturday in Los Angeles in a final tune-up before the Mountain West Championships (May 9-12) in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Ellie Fanaika (hammer throw), Marianne Hogan (5,000 meters), Josefine Koskinen (800 meters), Thoraya Maronsey (triple jump), Rebecca Turnbow (pole vault), Holly Waseloff (pole vault) and Hannah Winokur (800 meters) are each expected to compete in Saturday's meet.
Turnbow and Waseloff kick things off for the Aztecs at 11 a.m. PT in the pole vault, while Maronsey closes the field events at 4:30 p.m. PT in the triple jump. On the track, the 800 (Koskinen, Winokur) will start at 6:30 p.m. PT with the 5K (Hogan) ending the day at 9:40 p.m. PT.
Last weekend at the UC San Diego Triton Invitational, five SDSU athletes set all-time top-10 marks, including Allison Reaser, who won the 400-meter hurdles with a time 58.37 seconds. It was the third-best time in program history.
Other top-10 marks came from Whitney Ashley (No. 2 in shot put, 54-01.00), Kelsy Hintz (No. 3 in pole vault, 13-10.00), Jasmine Burrell (No. 9 in hammer throw, 156-09) and Waseloff (No. 9 in pole vault, 12-10.25).
