Robinson Runs His Way Into The Finals

June 23, 2012

EUGENE, Ore. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV track & field assistant coach Khadevis Robinson ran a time of 1:45.83 in the men's 800m semifinals on Saturday to place himself atop the list of participants for Monday's finals at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Robinson was the only racer to crack a sub-1:46.0 time in two heats (16 races) of competition.

Robinson, who shaved nearly 1.5 second off his time from yesterday's first round, is attempting to qualify for his second United States Olympic Team. He represented the Red, White & Blue in 2004 at the Athens Olympics.

Former Rebel student-athlete Lekeisha Lawson came up short in her attempt of making the Olympic team in the 100m with her 18th-place finish (11.54) on Saturday.

Christine Spence, another former Rebel (2001-05), will have to wait until next Thursday, June 28 to participate in the women's 400m hurdles.
