FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State track & field team has added Northern Arizona transfer Chris Ganem to its 2013-14 roster. Distance coach Art Siemers made the announcement Wednesday.

While at NAU, Ganem placed fourth in the 2012 Big Sky indoor championships in the 800-meter and mile runs, and he was a member of the Lumberjacks conference championship distance-medley relay. Ganem also finished sixth in the outdoor championships in the 1,500 meters.

“Chris comes from a highly successful Northern Arizona University collegiate distance program which placed fourth at the 2012 NCAA Cross Country Championships,” commented Siemers. “His experience as a Big Sky Conference place winner in the middle distance events will be a huge asset to our program.”

A Castle Rock, Colo., native, Ganem graduated from Castle View High School. He finished third in the 2011 5A Colorado High School 1,600 meter championship. Converted for high altitude, his high school best time in the 1,600 is 4 minutes, 14.67 seconds.

Ganem’s best collegiate times are 1:53.68 in the 800 meters and 3:48.10 in the 1,500 meters.

He will join Colorado State in the fall. He will compete in cross country and track.
