FRESNO, Calif. --- Four Fresno State track and field athletes have been named to the 2012 Men's and Women's Division I All-Academic Track & Field team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as well as both Men and Women's teams being named 2012 All-Academic Teams . On the men's side, rising sophomore jumper Devin Harrison received the All-Academic honor, while rising senior thrower J'Quyra Moncur, rising junior thrower Meagan McKee and former Bulldog javelin thrower Christina Cabias represented the 'Dogs on the women's side.

"These four student-athletes represent what Fresno State Athletics is all about," said head coach Scott Winsor. "Not only are they getting it done for their teammates, they also get it done in the classroom. They represent the type of student-athletes we try to recruit to represent Fresno State: The true student-athlete."

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).

All four of the Bulldogs nominated participated in and had top 25 finishes in the NCAA First Round meet. Harrison finished 24th in the long jump with a 7.46m leap. Moncur had the highest finish for the 'Dogs, placing 16th in the hammer throw, while teammate McKee place 22nd in the same event. Cabias tossed a personal best 45.50m in the javelin which was good enough for 20th place.

The teams earned the distinction as All-Academic teams by recording at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA. The women recorded a team GPA of 3.25 and the men recorded a team GPA of 3.03.
