Mountain West Announces Cross Country Athletes of the Week - October 10, 2012

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State junior Zach Wiles and San Diego State senior Marianne Hogan have earned Mountain West Men's and Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, for races contested from Oct. 1-7, 2012. It is the fifth Mountain West career honor for Hogan and the first for Wiles.

Wiles, a native of Defiance, Ohio, won the Boise State Invitational. He ran the 5-kilometer race in a time of 15:40, seven second ahead of the second-place finisher. It is the second time this season that Wiles has been the top meet finisher for the Broncos.

A native of Bedford, Quebec, Canada, Hogan claimed the individual title at the UC San Diego Triton Classic and led the Aztecs to a second-place team finish. She completed the 6-kilometer course in 22:06.1, more than eight seconds ahead of the next collegiate finisher. It is Hogan's third career individual title running for San Diego State.
