SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Despite 13 strikeouts and a complete game effort by Ben Bertelson, the Air Force baseball team lost at San Diego State, 6-2, Saturday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Falcons dropped to 6-19, 2-3 while the Aztecs improved to 13-15, 2-3.

It was also Bertelson's (0-5) second double-digit strikeout game and second complete game loss this season. The junior left-hander allowed six runs, but just two were earned, in the tough-luck loss.
San Diego State scored five runs in the second inning, four being unearned. The Aztecs added a run in the fourth.
Air Force was held to six hits in the game. The Falcons scored both its runs on a two-run double by freshman catcher Brian Sicher in the fourth inning. Junior right fielder Garrett Custons led the Falcons with two base hits. Alex Bast and Blair Roberts scored AFA's two runs.
San Diego State starting pitcher Travis Pitcher (3-2) picked up the win with 5.2 innings pitched. T.J. Kendorza held the Falcons scoreless over the final 3.1 innings to pick up the save in relief.
The Aztecs had seven hits in the game. Second baseman Tim Zier led SDSU with two hits.
The three-game series wraps up tomorrow. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. (PST).
