Air Force Downed 4-2 By San Diego State Friday

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force baseball dropped a 4-2 ballgame to San Diego State in Mountain West action Friday afternoon at Falcon Field. The loss drops the Falcons to 9-22, 3-8 and improved the Aztecs to 18-16, 9-4.
Michael Cederoth (3-4) struck out 11 batters in the complete game win for San Diego State. Cederoth held the Falcons hitless until the fifth inning.
Air Force had four hits in the game and managed to get the game-tying run to the plate in the ninth inning. Senior shortstop Matthew Roberts had AFA's first hit of the game. Freshman second baseman Spencer Draws followed immediately with the second hit.
San Diego State had 11 hits on the day. Second baseman Tim Zier and catcher Jake Romanski had two hits each for the Aztecs.
San Diego State scored runs in the first and third innings to take a 2-0 lead. Junior first baseman Seth Kline scored a run in the fourth with a sacrifice fly RBI by sophomore third baseman Tyler Saleck.
The Aztecs scored runs in the seventh and eighth to go up 4-1. In the ninth, Saleck drove in Reks with a ground-out RBI.
Game two of the three-game series is tomorrow back at Falcon Field. First pitch is 1 p.m.
