FORT WORTH, Texas - Air Force baseball dropped a 6-2 ball game at TCU Sunday afternoon at Lupton Stadium. The Falcons fell to 8-25, 3-9 and the Horned Frogs improved to 20-13, 9-3.
A four-run third inning was enough for TCU to hold off Air Force and complete the series sweep. Frog starting pitcher Stefan Crichton (5-0) remained undefeated on the season, allowing two runs in six innings to pick up the win.
Falcon starting pitcher Evan Abrecht (3-2) tossed his third-consecutive complete game, striking out seven in eight innings pitched.
TCU was led offensively by catch Josh Elander, who went 1-for-4 with four RBIs, including a three-run home run in the third inning. Designated hitter Jantzen Witte added a solo home run in the eighth inning.
Air Force struck first with a run in the top of the first. TCU plated four in the third to take the lead for good. The Falcons fought back with a run in the fourth, but the Frogs added runs in the fifth and eighth innings.
The Falcons return to action Tuesday, with a newly added game, hosting Regis University, Tuesday, April 17 at Falcon Field.
