FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State baseball team is geared up and ready to take on UNLV at Beiden Field in time to celebrate Victor E. II's first birthday along with other fun events throughout the three-game Mountain West match-up between the Bulldogs and Rebels.

Simply, there are lots of exciting things happening down at Beiden Field this weekend - beginning with Bulldogs' senior catcher Austin Wynns trading cards being handed out throughout the series.

On Friday night, the Bulldogs are showing appreciation to senior citizens in the community by offering fans 55 and wiser free admission to enjoy a night at the diamond.

Kids can also get free admission to Saturday's game by wearing their youth or little league jersey while coming out to support their `Dogs, when the Fresno State Department of Athletics and Alumni Association will also host a birthday party for the university's live mascot, Victor E. Bulldog II. Fans will get a chance to personally wish him a very happy first birthday.

To wrap up the series, Fresno State will continue its season-long "Salute to Sundays" by offering active military and Veterans in the community free admission with their military I.D.

Fresno State (7-18) and UNLV (20-8) will be facing each other for the first time since 1999 when the UNLV Rebels won two of three at Beiden, but the 'Dogs are fresh off a 4-3 victory over the Pacific Tigers on Tuesday night while the Rebels have won their last three games.

Fresno State will be drawing on learning from their early-season challenges to get in position for a run at its eighth consecutive conference title.

"When you get banged around a little bit, the impact of your experiences tends to be twice or three fold what it might otherwise be," the Bulldogs' pitching coach Steve Rousey said. "So if we can parlay that into success like we have in recent outings that will bode well for the team."

The Fresno State-UNLV series starts on Friday night at 6:35 p.m. PT, followed by games on Saturday night at 6:35 p.m. PT and Sunday at 1:05 p.m. PT. The entire series can heard live on AM 940 ESPN Radio or through All-Access at
