THIS WEEKEND IN AZTEC BASEBALL
San Diego State resumes Mountain West action as it hosts the league co-leader TCU for a three-game series that gets underway on Friday (April 20) at 6:00 p.m. at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Horned Frogs and Aztecs will also meet for games on Saturday (April 21) and Sunday (April 22) at 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. respectively. Note the time change on Sunday's contest against TCU (11:00 a.m.) which was made to accommodate the Horned Frogs' travel plans.

ON THE AIR
All three of this weekend's contests against TCU will be televised live on Cox Cable 4 SD in San Diego as well as on The Mtn network. Craig Elsten and Jack Cronin will call the action.

ZIER ON THE OFFENSIVE
Second baseman Tim Zier has hit safely in each of SDSU's last 10 games and has an RBI in seven of those contests. He has recorded a double in four of the Aztecs' last four games including a pair of two-baggers at UC Irvine on Tuesday (April 17). During his current 10-game hitting streak he is batting .370 (17-for-46) with four doubles and seven runs batted in.

ALLEN FOR THE DEFENSE
Freshman outfielder Greg Allen has recorded eight assists from the outfield this season. Most recently he was involved in a fielder's choice against San Diego on Monday (April 9) when he grabbed a line drive on one hop and fired it to second base to get the force out on a runner from first. Allen has not committed an error in 94 chances in center and left field. He has hit safely in four of SDSU's last five games. He leads the Aztecs runs scored and is tied or the team high in doubles.

ROMANSKI GETTING OFFENSIVE
Catcher Jake Romanski comes into the weekend on a seven-game hitting streak during which he is batting .345 (10-for-29) with two doubles, four RBI and six runs scored. He has scored at least one run in six of his last seven games. He had his first stolen base of the year on his only attempt of 2012 in the game vs. Air Force on April 1.

MUNO STARTS NEW STREAK
After having his eight-game hitting streak ended by the University of San Diego on Monday, April 9, freshman third baseman Ryan Muno has this safely in the last five games. Over the last five contests he is hitting .368 (7-for-19) with a double. He made his first career start at first base in the contest at UC Irvine on Tuesday (April 17).

REIBENSPIES ANSWERS THE CALL
Freshman Tanner Reibenspies made his first start at third base in the contest at UC Irvine on Tuesday (April 17). He responded by recording a pair of singles and a walk in three plate appearances. He also scored a run, his first of the season. It was the first action for the reserve infielder since walking as a pinch hitter at Cal State Fullerton on April 3.

AZTEC NOTES
Greg Allen leads the Aztecs in multiple-hit games with 12. Both he and Jomel Torres have recorded five multiple-RBI efforts to tie for the team high ... The Aztecs are 4-1 in one-run games this season ... Cody Smith has three RBI since missing five games (April 1-9) with back spasms, including the game winner in the ninth inning of the 4-3 victory over New Mexico on Sunday (April 15) ... Dillon Bryant has recorded a base hit in the four of the last five games in which he has played ... Ryan Muno has reached base safely (via hit, walk or hit by pitch) in 14 straight games. Spencer Thornton has done the same in the last 13 contests ... Chris Wilson's seven RBI against Cal Poly on March 23 was his career high and one shy of the SDSU record.
