BA's Top Prospect List Ranks Two Bulldogs

DURHAM, N.C. - Fresno State baseball players Aaron Judge and Jordan Luplow were ranked in Baseball America's top prospect list for the 20 college summer leagues alongside 235 players nationwide.

Baseball America announced the top prospect list ranking the talent-rich Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) at number one with the top 30 players and the Alaska Baseball League (ABL) at number three with the top 10 players.

Judge, an outfielder for the Brewster Whitecaps, was ranked sixth in the CCBL by Baseball America.

After becoming the 2012 TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby Champion, Judge led the Brewster Whitecaps with five home runs and earned the team Citizenship award for being a positive team member.

As a sophomore this past season at Fresno State, Judge launched four home runs, including two off Stanford ace pitcher and the Pittsburgh Pirates' top draft pick (No. 8 overall), Mark Appel.

Luplow, an outfielder for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots, was ranked seventh by Baseball America in the ALB ending the season with the fifth-most RBI in the league at 26.

As a freshman Bulldog this last spring, Luplow was name the Most Valuable Player honors at the 2012 Western Athletic Conference Tournament and scored the winning run in the bottom of the 13th to send Fresno State to it sixth NCAA regional in the past seven seasons.

Fresno State returns to Beiden Field in 2013 as a member of the Mountain West Conference and will host the Mountain West Conference Championship in late May of 2013.
