Annual UNM Baseball Golf Tournament Fundraiser Part of Alumni Weekend

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Head coach Ray Birmingham and the University of New Mexico baseball team is excited to host the annual Alumni Weekend Oct. 4-6. The weekend's festivities get started at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4 with a social at Coaches Sports Bar and Grill on Central.
The weekend continues Friday, Oct. 5 with a fundraiser golf tournament at Desert Greens Golf Course. It is a scramble with four-person teams. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the shotgun start is set for 9 a.m. The entry fee is $150 and it includes green fees, cart, range balls, a UNM polo, and lunch following the tournament.
Former Lobo great Brian Cavazos-Galvez, who spent most of the 2012 season playing for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes, will be playing in the tournament, and all other alumni playing professional baseball will be invited back as well. Saturday will bring the alumni baseball game that is taking place on the new Lobo Field. Batting practice begins at 9 a.m. and the game will start at 10 a.m. Coffee and breakfast burritos will be provided, but bring your own Advil.
Following the game, all alumni are invited to the tailgate at 1 p.m. at the Alumni Lettermen's Lounge upstairs in The Pit. The Lobo homecoming game vs. Texas State will begin at 4 p.m.
