Rebels To Host Two-Game Series Against Cal State Fullerton

Oct. 17, 2012

LAS VEGAS ( - The UNLV baseball team will open its fall schedule by hosting Cal State Fullerton for a two-game series on Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21.

The exhibition games will be nine innings, but extra innings could be added on either day so that more players can see playing time.

“This is a great opportunity for us to play a quality opponent and get some game action in during the fall,” said third-year head coach Tim Chambers. “The games will allow us to gauge where we stand as a team against some top competition. It will also give us a chance to see what we need to work on before the season gets going officially in the spring.”

Cal State Fullerton finished the 2012 season with a 35-19 record and won the Big West Conference title. The Titans were the No. 2 seed in the Eugene Regional of the NCAA tournament and finished the season ranked No. 21 by Baseball America.

The games are slated for a 1:00 p.m. start on Saturday and a 12:00 p.m. start on Sunday. The Rebels will conclude their fall schedule on Nov. 4 as they will host Air Force.
