TUCSON, Ariz. ---With just 55 days to Opening Day of the 2013 Fresno State baseball season, Bulldogs' senior catcher Austin Wynns was named a third-team Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American by the Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

In 2012, Wynns was Fresno State's work horse behind the plate, playing in 58 of the Bulldogs' 59 games, and helped lead the 'Dogs to their seventh straight conference championship.

At the 2012 Western Athletic Conference Tournament, Wynns' bat caught fire in Mesa going a team-best 11-for-21 (.524) at the plate with six doubles, seven RBI and seven runs scored over six games, in which he caught all 58 innings in the five-day tournament. In the 13-inning championship bout, Wynns went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the 4-3 win over Sacramento State that punched the Bulldogs' ticket to the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

Wynns, a 2012 WAC All-Tournament team and academic all-conference honoree, led the league with 22 doubles and posted 10 multi-RBI games. He previously earned first-team all-conference honors in 2011.

Fresno State opens the 2013 season on Feb. 15 at 6:35 p.m. when the Bulldogs host the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos for the first of a three-game weekend series. Season tickets go on sale beginning Jan. 2 through the Bulldog Ticket Office starting at $200 for adults and $99 for youth.
