    Breaking The End of Season Road Jinx

  • This marks the 12th time in the Division I era that San Diego State is ending the regular season with two road games. The Aztecs have swept the trip once (1977), split the trip twice (1976 and 1972) and have been swept eight times.
  • San Diego State entered tonight having been swept on the end of season two-game road swing the last seven times. The Aztecs had lost 14 consecutive games when facing that scenario.
  • It is worth noting that Steve Fisher coached San Diego State teams only encountered the situation once. That was in 2003, when the Aztecs lost at Colorado State (which went on to win the MWC tournament) and at UNLV. Entering this season, that is the only time in Steve Fisher's head coaching career he has ended the regular season with consecutive road games.

After connecting on 3-of-5 attempts from the field tonight, he has now made 29 of his last 50 field goal attempts... Drew his 30th charge of the season tonight.

    Chase Tapley (11 points, 4 rebounds)
    The junior posted his 52nd career double-digit scoring game and reached 10 or more points for the 21st time in his last 23 games... He had a three-point field goal, marking the seventh time in the last eight games he has made a trey.

    Xavier Thames (10 points)
    The sophomore guard reached double figures for the 11th time this season and the 15th time in his career...
