Breaking The End of Season Road Jinx
Jamaal Franklin (35 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists)
For the second consecutive game, the sophomore led San Diego State in points, rebounds and assists... Franklin scored a career-high 35 points... It was his third 30-point game, eighth 20-point game and 25th double-figure game of the season... He led the Aztecs for the 14th time in scoring this season, 15th time in rebounding this season and the fifth time in assist this seasons.. He posted his 11th double-double of the season and the 12th of his career... The sophomore has double-doubles in three straight games and eight times in his last 11 games... He reached double figures for the 17th consecutive game... He made 9-of-18 field goal attempts and was 3-of-8 from three-point range... He has five treys in his last two games... Shot 50 percent or better from the field in his last three games (22-of-42 during that span)... The 14 free throws made are the second most in the Steve Fisher era, trailing Brandon Heath's 17-for-17 performance against UNLV on Feb. 12, 2005.
Chase Tapley (18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists)
The junior posted his 53rd career double-digit scoring game and reached 10 or more points for the 22nd time in his last 24 games... He had a three-point field goal, marking the eighth time in the last nine games he has made a trey...His four assists were his most since recording four dines on Jan. 10th against Chicago State... The 18 points represent his highest output since scoring 22 at UNLV on Feb. 11.
Xavier Thames (16 points, 7 rebounds,2 assists)
The sophomore guard reached double figures for the 12th time this season and the 16th time in his career... He has scored 10 or more points in three consecutive games for the first time since doing so in Nov. (at Baylor, USC, Long Beach State)... He played 36 minutes tonight with one turnover, marking the fourth straight game he has had one turnover or less... Thames was 7-of-8 from the field, making him 10-for-13 from the field in the past two games.
James Rahon (12 points, 3 rebounds)
The junior reached double figures for the 40th time in his career and his 22nd time as a member of the Aztecs. He connected on 2-of-5 from three-point range, giving him 6 made threes in his last three games... Rahon now has 149 career three-point field goals. Recorded just one turnover in the game, giving him a turnover or less in 57 of his last 64 games.
