• San Diego State wins its third-ever Division I NCAA tournament game and improves to 3-8 in nine appearances.

• SDSU advances past its opening-round NCAA game for just the second time in Division I school history (2011).

• The Aztecs improve to 3-2 in the NCAA tournament when owning a higher seed than their opponent.

• San Diego State wins an NCAA tournament game in the Eastern Time Zone for the first time in three tries (2010, 2012, 2013).

• The Aztecs are 3-2 in their last five NCAA tournament games, which dates to 2011. Prior to the five, they were 0-6.

• Since 2011, San Diego State owns three of the five NCAA tournament victories by current Mountain West Conference schools (Colorado State 1 and New Mexico 1).

Fisher v. Kruger Notes

Deshawn Stephens (7 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 blocked shot)
His 11 rebounds tonight set a career-high, surpassing his previous career-best of 10 set on Nov. 21 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff... Posted his second double-figure rebounding effort of the season/career and his first since the 10 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Nov. 21... Led the team in rebounding for the third time this season.

Chase Tapley (10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal)
Tapley becomes the first player in school history to play in the NCAA tournament in four different seasons... Posted a double-figure scoring effort for the 22nd time this season and the 79th time in his career.
