SDSU Head Coach Steve Fisher:

"Out of the gate we were sensational with our defense - our defense created offensive opportunities. Our defense created offense. We went from tremendous depth to no depth. They did to us, what we had been doing to other people, they ate us alive. We were somewhat fortunate to get out of here with a victory. USC came at us defensively and with their size on the interior.

"We knew the game wasn't going to end up how it started with how big of a lead we had. We had some very important baskets down the stretch. We lost our poise a little bit when they made their run - we got out of character with our defense. Instead of the basics we got distracted.

"I thought we did a great job on the road and in this environment. We are going to enjoy this one and get ready for UCLA on Monday morning."

USC Head Coach - Kevin O'Neill

"Unfortunately we didn't come out and shoot the ball early. We got better as the game went on. We had our chances. We got the lead twice in the second half. But you can't shoot 11-of-20 from the line and you can't be immature. Unfortunately that happened. We gave in to things at the end that hurt us.

"We've got to start converting and shooting the ball better. I liked our shot selection.. We rebounded our tails off and fought hard. We have to keep being aggressive and shooting.

"The immaturity of the emotional stuff, you can't overcome that against a good team. That's not acceptable.

"I liked our fight but we have to do our job from the very beginning.

"The (late technical) was a big play. It was immature on (Omar's) part. But the biggest thing is the way we came out of the gate. We have to make our shots, we have to do a better job defensively and we can never fall prey to stupid things that cost games."

USC guard Jio Fontan:

"When you put yourself that deep in a hole, you've got to come back harder. We had a couple dumb plays at the end.

"I have to play better. I've had a rough couple games."
