FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State men's basketball team focused on its intensity, defensive pressure and offensive execution, and cruised past San Diego Christian for a wire-to-wire 84-59 victory on Thursday night at the Save Mart Center.
Fresno State (5-3) scored the first seven points of the game, and never looked back to pick up its fifth win of the season and the program's 99th victory at the Save Mart Center.
The Bulldogs recorded 18 steals - just one shy of the school record of 19 that was last achieved back on Dec. 1, 1998 versus Sacramento State.
The 35-point win is the second-largest margin of victory by a Fresno State team over the past 10 seasons - just six points off tying the 41-point win (83-42) by the 'Dogs over Maryland-Eastern Shore to open the 2004-05 season on Nov. 17, 2004.
Fresno State now starts a stretch of playing three Pac-12 teams over the course of the next four games when the Bulldogs visit the Washington State Cougars on Sunday at noon, which will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.
The Pac-12 Network is available in Fresno on Comcast Ch. 433 (823 for HD) and Dish TV Ch. 413. No other provider in Fresno carries the Pac-12 Network.
The 'Dogs then return home to face Colorado on Wednesday and UC Irvine next Saturday, Dec. 15. Both games tip off at 7 p.m. PT and tickets for each game start at $17 for adults and $9 for youth (ages 2-18).
Fresno State then travels down to the new Pauley Pavilion to take on the UCLA Bruins on Dec. 22 at 8:30 p.m. - also on the Pac-12 Networks.
