Runnin' Rebels Back At Thomas & Mack Center Thursday

Jan. 23, 2013

After a tough start to the Mountain West season playing three of its first four games on the road against three of the top opponents in the league (New Mexico, San Diego State and Colorado State), the UNLV men's basketball team (15-4, 2-2) returns home to the Thomas & Mack Center on Thursday, Jan. 24, to face another top team - Wyoming (15-2, 2-2) at 6:15 p.m. PST (please note the earlier start time). The Cowboys are coming off a 58-45 win over then-No. 15/14 SDSU on Saturday in Laramie where they held the Aztecs to just nine first half points.

Thursday's game will be televised by CBS Sports Network with Andrew Catalon, Steve Lappas and Lauren Gardner (sidelines) calling the action, while Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live in Las Vegas on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/98.9 FM and online at through the subscription-based All-Access feature.

The Runnin' Rebels had a two-game win streak snapped at Colorado State (66-61) on Saturday after defeating then-No. 15/14 SDSU in San Diego on Jan. 16 and have won 13 of their last 16 games. UNLV is 11-1 in home games, including 10-1 at the Thomas & Mack Center this season (eight straight wins).

UNLV leads the all-time series with Wyoming 30-15. Last year, the two teams split the regular-season series with each winning on its home floor and the Runnin' Rebels winning a quarterfinal MW Tournament contest. UNLV has won 10 straight against the Cowboys at the Thomas & Mack Center. In the AP Top 25, UNLV is receiving votes and comes in at No. 29 while Wyoming comes in at No. 30 in the nation. In the USA Today Coaches Poll, UNLV is receiving votes and comes in at No. 28 while Wyoming comes in at No. 30.

Tickets to Thursday's game start at $20 in advance: 702-739-FANS, or at the TMC Box Office.
