Runnin' Rebels Back Home Wednesday Night

Off to its best start to a season since 1991-92, the No. 11/13 UNLV men's basketball team (20-3, 4-1) has won 20 games before the month of February for the first time since 1987. The Runnin' Rebels have won four straight games (101-78 over TCU on Jan. 18, 80-63 against New Mexico on Jan. 21 in front of a sold-out Thomas & Mack Center crowd, 77-72 in overtime at Boise State on Jan. 25 and 65-63 in overtime at Air Force on Saturday).

The Runnin' Rebels, who are in a first-place tie in the Mountain West with No. 17 San Diego State, return home to the Thomas & Mack Center this week to face Colorado State (14-6, 3-2) on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m. CSU is coming off a 77-60 upset win over San Diego State on Saturday.

Wednesday's game will be televised on The Mtn. with Rich Cellini, Joe Cravens and Molly Sullivan calling the action. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio broadcast, which may be heard live in Las Vegas on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/98.9 FM. The radio broadcast is also available at through the subscription-based All-Access feature, while Gametracker is provided for free on the website.

The Runnin' Rebels are 12-0 at home for the first time since 1991-92, have won 11 of their last 12 games and this week's top-25 ranking marks their eighth week as a ranked team this season, which is their highest total number of weeks in the polls since 1992-93.

UNLV's only loss over its last 12 games was at No. 17 San Diego State, by two points on a last-second shot. UNLV's No. 11 AP ranking is its highest in either poll since Feb. 8, 1993, when it was No. 10.

The Runnin' Rebels are 32-9 all-time against Colorado State and have won 15 of the last 17 meetings and eight of the last nine at home.
