No. 13/14 San Diego State Opens Second Half of League Play at No. 14/16 UNLV

* Having secured its school-record seventh consecutive season with at least 20 victories, No. 13/14 San Diego State opens up the second half of Mountain West play at No. 14/16 UNLV on Saturday afternoon at Thomas & Mack Center. The Aztecs, who earned a co-regular season title last season, begin the bell lap with a one-game lead over both the Rebels and Wednesday's opponent New Mexico.

* Saturday's game is one of three match-ups between AP top-15 teams (No. 6 Baylor at No. 4 Missouri and No. 11 Michigan State at No. 3 Ohio State).

* San Diego State owns the nation's highest winning percentage since the beginning of the 2010-11 season. During that span, the Aztecs are 54-6 (90.0 percent).

* San Diego State has won its last three meetings with teams ranked in the AP Top 25. That is a school record and is the third-longest active streak nationally (Georgetown and Kentucky, 4).

* Sophomore Jamaal Franklin is the only player in the Mountain West to rank in the top three in both scoring and rebounding for all games (16.0 ppg - 1st; 7.2 rpg - 3rd) and conference games only (18.0 ppg - 2nd; 9.3 rpg - 2nd). He has also reached double figures in scoring in a career-high 11 straight games and has seven double-doubles in his last 10 games.

* Junior Chase Tapley is second in the league in scoring (15.9) and is first in steals (2.09). Tapley has already surpassed his scoring total from both his freshman and sophomore campaigns. He has reached double figures in scoring in a career-high 17 straight games.

* San Diego State has defeated UNLV a school-record six consecutive times and has won nine of the last 10 meetings. The Aztecs are 21-32 all-time against the Rebels, with 17 of those victories coming under the direction of two-time national coach of the year Steve Fisher.

* The Aztecs have gone 40 consecutive games without allowing an opponent to shoot 50 percent or better from the field, a streak that dates back to last season. In seven conference games, SDSU opponents are shooting 39.4 percent from the field. That figure leads the Mountain West.
