Mountain West Announces Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Feb. 13, 2012
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV sophomore forward Mike Moser has been named the Mountain West Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games through February 12. This is the fourth career weekly accolade for Moser.
Moser led No. 14/16 UNLV to a 65-63 win over No. 13/14 San Diego State on Saturday, moving the Runnin' Rebels into a three-way for first place in the Mountain West standings. The sophomore forward scored a team-high 19 points and grabbed a game-best nine rebounds as the Rebels snapped a six-game losing streak to the Aztecs. He also recorded career-highs of six steals and four blocks while adding two assists in 36 minutes of action. With 40 seconds left to play and SDSU holding a 63-62 lead, Moser stripped Aztec Xavier Thames on a drive into the lane. The loose ball went to fellow Rebel Anthony Marshall, who took it the length of the court and scored the go-ahead basket.
