UNLV Hosts No. 22/21 CSU Wednesday
Feb. 19, 2013
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -
After recording its third victory of this season over a ranked team on Saturday vs. then No. RV/22 San Diego State at a sold-out Thomas & Mack Center (72-70), the UNLV men's basketball team will play its second straight game vs. a ranked team in No. 22/21 Colorado State on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 7:15 p.m.
The Rams' visit will mark the Runnin' Rebels' third straight ranked opponent at home as they also defeated then-No. 15/16 New Mexico (64-55) on Feb. 9 at the TMC.
UNLV is 14-1 on Tarkanian Court this season, which includes 12 straight wins. In addition, UNLV is 32-1 in its last 33 regular-season games at the Thomas & Mack and has won each of its last 14 regular-season home games against Mountain West opponents.
With the win over SDSU, UNLV head coach Dave Rice became the winningest coach over his first two seasons in program history. Rice has led UNLV to 45 wins since the start of the 2011-12 season, surpassing Jerry Tarkanian's mark of 44 victories over his first two years in charge of the program.
Wednesday's game will be televised by CBS Sports Network with Andrew Catalon, Steve Lappas and Lauren Gardner (sidelines) calling the action, while Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live in Las Vegas on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/98.9 FM and online at UNLVRebels.com through the subscription-based All-Access feature.
Colorado State defeated UNLV 66-61 in Fort Collins, Colo., earlier this year on Jan. 19, and has won two straight, but the Runnin' Rebels lead the all-time series 33-11 and have won nine of the last 10 meetings at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Tickets to Wednesday's game start at $20 if purchased in advance of the day of the game.
