Mountain West Student-Athletes and Coaches Receive All-District Accolades

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Ten Mountain West student-athletes have been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 17 team, with San Diego State head coach Steve Fisher being named NABC District 17 Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. In addition, seven MW student-athletes and coaches have garnered all-district accolades from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA).

New Mexico's Drew Gordon and Kendall Williams, San Diego State's Jamaal Franklin and Chase Tapley and UNLV's Mike Moser were named to the NABC District 17 first-team, the organization announced on Wednesday. Colorado State's Wes Eikmeier and Dorian Green, TCU's Hank Thorns, UNLV's Anthony Marshall and Wyoming's Leonard Washington all garnered second-team accolades from the association.

Colorado State head coach Tim Miles was named USBWA District VIII Coach of the Year, while San Diego State head coach Steve Fisher was tabbed District IX Coach of the Year for the second straight season.

Air Force's Michael Lyons, Colorado State's Wes Eikmeier, New Mexico's Drew Gordon and UNLV's Mike Moser landed on the USBWA All-District IX squad, while San Diego State's Jamaal Franklin was named to the USBWA All-District IX team.
