Shelton to Throw First Pitch Saturday at PETCO Park

April 4, 2012

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's basketball senior forward Tim Shelton is set to throw out the first pitch prior to Saturday's San Diego Padres game vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers. The April 7 game at PETCO Park is set for a 5:35 p.m. PT start.

This marks the second straight season in which an Aztec basketball student-athlete has thrown out the first pitch as D.J. Gay drew the honor last year. Shelton's teammates will also be on the field as he tosses the ceremonial pitch.

The Aztecs are coming off their fourth straight season with at least 25 wins after they finished the 2011-12 campaign with a 26-8 record. SDSU won its second consecutive Mountain West regular-season title and advanced to its third straight NCAA Tournament.

Tickets to Saturday's game are available online at padres.com or the PETCO Park ticket office.
