Mountain West Announces Basketball Schedule

Aug. 10, 2012

RENO, Nev. - The Nevada men's basketball team will have at least eight of its conference games on national television as the Mountain West announced the 2012-13 men's basketball conference schedule today.

"I am very excited about our conference schedule," head coach David Carter said.  " We are looking forward to the new challenge and strong competition it  will bring each night".

The University of Nevada joins the nine-team MW this season and will play each team twice to comprise the 16-game conference schedule.  Nevada will announce its non-conference schedule at a later date and the conference will announce additional television games next month.

"We are very pleased to have eight games of our conference games on television," athletics director Cary Groth said. "It's a testament to the hard work that David Carter and our men's basketball program are putting in and I'm appreciate of the support we are getting from our television partners and the Mountain West."

Wolf Pack games will appear on either CBSSN or NBCSN a total of eight times this season.  Both of Nevada's games - home and away - against UNLV, New Mexico, San Diego State and Colorado State will be shown on one of the two networks.

The Pack opens MW play at Air Force on Jan. 9 then return home for its first home MW contest on Jan. 12 versus Wyoming.  Nevada will also host San Diego State and Boise State in January.  Two road games the first month of the season are at Fresno State and UNLV.

February begins with a road trip to New Mexico on Feb. 2 followed by a pair of home games with Colorado State and Air Force.  The Pack will also host Fresno State on Feb. 19.  The month ends with road contests at San Diego State and Boise State.

UNLV and New Mexico come to Lawlor Events Center the first week of March and MW play concludes on Mar. 9 at Colorado State.

The MW basketball championships are March 12-16, 2013 in Las Vegas.
