2012-13 Men's Basketball Schedule

Albuquerque, N.M. --- Fresh off a 28-7 season, a Mountain West regular season title, a Mountain West Tournament title, and a Third Round showing in the NCAA Tournament, the 2012-13 New Mexico Lobo basketball season should be another great one in The Pit. Fans won't want to miss any of the exciting action, and the best way to do that is by purchasing season tickets, which go on sale Wednesday, October 3 at 8:30 a.m., at the Lobo Ticket Office in The Pit.

The 18-game home schedule features plenty of great non-conference action, including NCAA Tournament teams Davidson, New Mexico State, and South Dakota State, along with conference champion Valparaiso, CIT champion Mercer, and USC of the Pac-12. Home games within the Mountain West included five postseason teams, including NCAA Tournament teams UNLV, San Diego State, and Colorado State.

The team has won at least 22 games in each of Steve Alford's five seasons, and has won 30 and 28 in two of the last three seasons, the top two winningest seasons in school history. In Alford's five seasons at the helm, UNM is 126-46 overall and 77-10 in The Pit.

The squad returns three starters from a year ago in Kendall Williams, Tony Snell, and Hugh Greenwood, along with senior Jamal Fenton and Demetrius Walker in the back court. Cameron Bairstow and Los Alamos native Alex Kirk return to man the post for the Lobos.

The season gets off to a raucous start on November 12 as UNM plays Davidson on ESPN as a part of ESPN's 24-hours of College Basketball Tip-Off Marathon. November will also see UNM host Idaho (a 19-game winner a year ago), Portland, and Mercer, who won 27 games and the CIT postseason tournament.

December home games feature a gauntlet of successful teams, starting with USC of the Pac-12 on Dec. 5, and continuing with games on three successive Saturdays against Valparasio (Dec. 8), who won 22 games and the Horizon league title, New Mexico State (Dec. 15) who won 26 games and the WAC title, and South Dakota State (Dec. 22) who won 27 games and the Summit League title.

UNM's eight-game Mountain West slate opens on January 9 against UNLV and will feature games against San Diego State, Colorado State, Boise State, Wyoming, and Air Force, along with conference newcomers Fresno State and Nevada.

Season ticket packages for the 18-game home slate begin at just $268 for adults and $144 for youth. Tickets can be purchased at the Lobo Ticket Office at The Pit, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.golobos.com or www.unmtickets.com, or by calling the Lobo Ticket Office at 505-925-LOBO.

NOTES: The Lobos will entertain the fans on October 12 as the Lobo Howl returns to the Pit for the first time in three years. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. at The Pit, with the men's team hitting the court around 8 p.m.
