Falcons Open With Second Annual All-Military Classic
The Air Force men’s basketball team opens its 2012-13 season with the second annual All-Military Classic, Nov. 10-11 at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. The Falcons will play service-academy rival Army on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. (ET), followed by VMI and Citadel at 4 p.m. The third-place game is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, followed by the championship game.

This is the second of the four-year deal for the tournament, with each school hosting once. Air Force hosted the first tournament last season, VMI will host in ‘13 and Army in ‘14. The tournament will be played each year during Veteran’s Day weekend.

Air Force won the title last year, defeating VMI 75-65 in the final.

Getting Started
This season marks the 57th year of varsity basketball for Air Force. This is Air Force’s 14th season in the Mountain West. AFA was a member of the Western Athletic Conference for 19 years before joining the MW in 1999.

Season Openers
Air Force is 26-30 all-time in season openers. The Falcons are 20-8 at home and 6-22 on the road (including neutral games). Last season, the Falcons opened with an 87-71 victory over Army at home in the first round of the All-Military Classic. Air Force has won its last nine season openers and 11 home openers.
