No. 20/17 UNLV Plays At North Carolina Saturday

Dec. 26, 2012

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -

The No. 20/17 UNLV men's basketball team, winner of nine straight games and all three of its road contests this season, will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., to face North Carolina on Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Dean Smith Center (21,750) at 2 p.m. EST/11 a.m. PST.

The game will be televised on ESPN2 with Jon Sciambi and Jay Bilas calling the action (also available at WatchESPN.com). Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live in Las Vegas on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/98.9 FM and online at UNLVRebels.com through the subscription-based All-Access feature.

North Carolina leads the all-time series with UNLV, 3-1, but the Runnin' Rebels won the last meeting, taking down the No. 1-ranked Tar Heels 90-80 in the championship game of the Las Vegas Invitational last year on Nov. 26 at the Orleans Arena. It was UNLV's first win over the nation's top-ranked team in 22 years and the first time a Mountain West school has ever defeated the No. 1 team in both polls.
