DeRuyter Looks for Big Recruiting Class in Year Two

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State head football coach Tim DeRuyter will unveil his second recruiting class on Wednesday's National Signing Day.

DeRuyter is looking at signing a large class. The NCAA maximum that a school can sign is 25 student-athletes and the Bulldogs are expecting to be right in that ballpark. will feature live updates on Wednesday, beginning in the early morning, announcing the student-athletes that have signed National Letters of Intent once they have been approved by the Bulldog compliance office and verified by the Mountain West.

DeRuyter is holding a 2 p.m. press conference on Wednesday to go over the recruiting class and fans can view that live stream for free at under All-Access.

Before Wednesday's signing day, DeRuyter also announced that offensive lineman Josh Tremblay has joined the program as a mid-year junior college transfer. Tremblay, a late enrollee in to Fresno State's 2013 spring semester, comes to the Bulldogs from American River College.

Tremblay, a 6-5, 285-pound offensive tackle, helped American River average 39.7 points per game and 483.5 yards of offense in his sophomore season of 2012. Tremblay led the Beavers to an 11-0 undefeated season in 2011 and a 8-3 record in 2012.

He is the fourth mid-year transfer to enroll and being workouts with the Bulldogs this spring semester. The other three were offensive lineman Patrick Kim, quarterback Brian Burrell and safety Rodney Mathews.

With these four and the large signing class expected to be announced on Wednesday, DeRuyter is stockpiling talent as he looks to build and improve off of last year's 9-4 season.

Fresno State won the Mountain West championship in its first season in the league and first year under DeRuyter, and Wednesday's event is the next step towards making a run at another conference championship.
