Seventh Annual Gildan New Mexico Bowl to be Played December 15

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - ESPN Regional Television (ERT), a subsidiary of ESPN, and the Gildan New Mexico Bowl announced that the seventh annual bowl game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, in University Stadium in Albuquerque, N.M., and will once again be the first game played in college football's bowl season. The game, which is scheduled to feature a team from the Mountain West Conference against a team from the Pac-12 Conference, will kickoff at 11 a.m. MT/1 p.m. ET and will air nationally on ESPN.
"It has become a holiday-time tradition in New Mexico for our game to be on a Saturday during the holiday season and we are very happy to be able to continue that," said Jeff Siembieda, Gildan New Mexico Bowl Executive Director. "Kicking off the bowl season has been tremendous for our event and this is another chance for us to showcase Albuquerque and New Mexico to a national audience, to host another exciting game and for local fans to come out and enjoy a terrific event."
Last year's Gildan New Mexico Bowl saw the Temple Owls beat the Wyoming Cowboys 37-15 in the first game of the bowl season. The inaugural New Mexico Bowl was played on December 23, 2006 when San Jose State defeated New Mexico 20-12.
