Fry Appears On Rimington Trophy Watch List

May 24, 2012

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU's James Fry has been named to the watch list for the 2012 Rimington Trophy, presented to the nation's top center.

Former Horned Frog All-American and now Indianapolis Colt Jake Kirkpatrick was the 2010 recipient of the Rimington Trophy.

A senior from Spring Branch, Texas, Fry will be in his second year as a starter for TCU. He helped anchor an offensive line last season that paved the way for the Horned Frogs to rank ninth nationally in scoring (40.8 points), 19th in rushing (208.6 yards) and 28th in total offense (440.2 yards).

Fry was also a key part in TCU placing fourth nationally in third-down conversions (52.0 percent) and in a tie for 15th by allowing just 1.0 sacks per game. TCU's offense scored at least 27 points in all 13 contests.
